- When I was about 12 years old my Dad gave me his 35mm Minolta and I can honestly say that I have been taking pictures ever since. There was something about seeing the world through the lens of a camera that felt incredibly natural to me. That passion led me to graduate from UNC-Charlotte with a BFA in Photography. I've studied at various schools in New York City as well as The Penland School of Crafts here in North Carolina. The Light Factory in Charlotte, NC has also been a wonderful teacher throughout my career. In 1998 I started my own business with a focus on photojournalistic style weddings with an intimate, unique and artistic twist and later expanded into shooting families and children as well. I love the challenge within photographing kids but more than that I adore their free spirits and humor. My work has been featured in Downtown Magazine, The Knot, Carolina Bride, PDN and various sites online from time to time. I suppose that my main motivation for taking pictures is to capture those elusive, quiet moments that are so full of stories yet so fleeting and forgotten. For me, it's within those seemingly quiet moments that my camera finds the truth.
